I did reburn these shows with FLAC based files and it made all the diffrence.

I just cant understand why the mp3 sourced shows from this site can sound soooooo bad. If I tunes downloaded mp3 files of the quality available here they would go out of buisness.

You are probably downloading the 64kps versions. MP3's can be compressed in various bitrates and sampling rates that can make a drastic difference in the sound quality. When the last dial up customer dies the format will most likely go the way of cassettes and vinyl.
